Biography

Ulie Schwab is a Swiss painter of German origin, born on February 1st 1950. After passing her senior high-school exams in a language school, she moved to the Lake Geneva region in the French-speaking part of Switzerland. Here, she studied Traditional Chinese Medicine and later worked in this field.

From a young age, she dedicated herself to various creative arts such as painting, sculpture, ceramics, Ikebana, dance and music. Among other institutions, she studied at the Ecole ABC de Paris under the tuition of Professor Georges Pacouil (1903 - 1996) and later with the Swiss artist Pierre Beck (1917 - 2002).

She opened her studio in Bursins in 2009. Since then, she has devoted herself entirely to painting, working as a freelance artist.

Ulie has exhibited her works in Switzerland and abroad and her paintings can be found in collections in Italy, France, Germany, Luxembourg, the United States, China and, of course, in Switzerland, amongst others at the Swatch Group Foundation. One of her paintings is hanging in the office of the Federal Councillor Guy Parmelin (President of Switzerland in 2021) at the Swiss government in Bern.

Since the beginning of 2016, the LDXArtodrome Gallery, Berlin/Hongkong, has represented her at international art fairs in Europe, Asia and in the United States. She gives her a total freedom to sell, to exhibit or to work with other persons or galleries, without any conditions.

Several of Ulie's artworks can be found on the online platform artvie.com, website of the renowned Swiss Gallery ART XXI, represented by the international art expert Gregory Guiter.

She has also been a member of the Swiss association Espace Artistes Femmes since 2022, chaired by Marie Bagi, PhD in art history and philosophy.
