Ulie Schwab (*1950) is a Swiss painter of German origin. After earning her high school diploma and degrees in foreign languages, she moved to the Lake Geneva region in 1972 in the French-speaking part of Switzerland, where she has later established permanent residence and studied traditional Chinese medicine.

From a young age, she nurtured a deep passion for the arts. Over time, she explored a wide range of artistic forms—from painting to dance, including sculpture, ceramics, music, and Ikebana. In 1976 and 1977, she studied painting and drawing at the Ecole ABC de Paris under the guidance of Professor Georges Pacouil and went on to refine her skills with several artists, including Pierre Beck of La Chaux-de-Fonds.

Her artistic path is deeply influenced by her studies in traditional Chinese medicine and her affinity for Japanese culture.

Since the opening of her studio in Bursins in 2009, she has devoted herself entirely to painting, working as a freelance artist.

From 2022, she has been a member of the Swiss foundation "Espace Artistes Femmes", chaired by Marie Bagi, PhD in History of Contemporary Art and Philosophy.

Ulie’s work has been exhibited in China, Switzerland, the European Union and the United States and is held in both private and public collections around the world. One of her paintings hangs in the office of the President of Switzerland at the Federal Palace in Bern and another in the private residence of a Federal Councillor.
